PLSTCT is a duo established in 2017 by Grazia Mappa and Gabriele Leo. Our work incorporates the languages of architecture, design, art and writing in the investigating the co-evolutive relationship between bodies (both the humans and non-human ones) and space and how it relates to ecology, technology and politics. Based on a cross-disciplinary approach, our practice tries to question the normative and binary systems that underlies the use of space within the dominant cultures. We often occupy that gray zone between functional and non-functional.
We understand architecture and design as performative processes and, as a consequence, we aim to design situations rather than just artifacts. Following this concept, in 2018 we started Post Disaster, a critic learning platform on the condition of the mediterranean scenario. We try to foster a collective investigation aiming to shed light on the role of marginal territories - on a global scale - within production systems and capital flows. The research focuses on Taranto, an industrial city that symbolises the underlying disparities of the western world.
Currently we live and work between Milan and Taranto.
